At B&S, we believe great careers can start anywhere. That’s why we’ve built a culture that recognizes and supports employees who show the potential to grow.

Jonathan Romo started with B&S as a laborer, where his supervisors quickly noticed his willingness to go the extra mile. He regularly helped his foreman with daily correspondence and looked for ways to contribute beyond his assigned responsibilities. He also took the initiative to enroll in community college part-time to learn more about construction and spoke with current field engineers to better understand the role.

Jonathan spent a summer interning as a Field Engineer across two projects, where he immediately stood out. He showed up early, improved processes without being asked, and consistently looked for ways to add value. His reliability, attention to detail, and willingness to take on new challenges ultimately led to a full-time position as a Field Engineer.

Jonathan’s story is just one example of how B&S identifies and develops potential from within. Our foremen, superintendents, and leaders pay attention to the people around them. When they see someone willing to work hard, learn, and take initiative, they look for opportunities to help them grow.

Congratulations to Jonathan Romo on his first few months as a Field Engineer. We’re excited to see where his career takes him next.
